La Gomera, nestled among ravines, deep within the forest
Walking deep within the Laurisilva forest of El Cedro, on La Gomera, is a unique, almost mystical experience. The purest green forest on the Atlantic coast. A jewel of the planet. Among centuries-old laurel trees draped in lichen, with the fertile valleys cultivated by the people of La Gomera in the distance, and on the horizon, above the clouds, Mount Teide.
Besides admiring the island closest to Tenerife, the most aboriginal of the Canary Islands, the one that, they say, never surrendered. The island that many fell in love with because of its rugged terrain, which became the guardian of the ancestral spirit of the ancient inhabitants of La Gomera, who never submitted.
Hiking in La Gomera
We'll pick you up in Puerto de la Cruz around 7:00 AM and head to the port of Los Cristianos to catch the ferry to La Gomera. Upon arrival, we'll go to the Cedro Forest, which covers the central part of the island. There, we'll go hiking inside the forest. Afterward, we'll stop at a local restaurant to sample some typical La Gomera delicacies. Then we'll return along the north coast of La Gomera to San Sebastián to catch the ferry back to Tenerife. We should arrive back in Puerto de la Cruz around 8:00 PM.
We would travel in an 8-seater van, with all the necessary hiking equipment. We will always be small groups.
