Over Masca, and the Atlantic
Laurel forest, pine forest, cliffs, breathtaking views—some of the best in Tenerife. And then dolphins, and a swim in Masca Bay. All in one. Tenerife in a complete and unforgettable excursion.
The most complete excursion
All in one. A 4-hour hike through the Laurisilva forest on the northern slopes. It starts cloudy, but as we traverse the forest, the sun will gradually peek through the trees. Reaching the summit, we can see the Masca ravine below, La Gomera in front, and the peaks of La Palma to the right. If we're there between February and May, the area of succulent vegetation, where the sun shines frequently, will be covered in flowers. We then descend and walk through a Canary pine forest. Many of the trees have black bark, a result of the 2007 fire—yet another example of the resilience of the Canary pine forest, which resprouted after the blaze. Now the landscape is different, with young volcanoes. We can see the black lava flows from Tenerife's last eruption, Chinyero, in 1909, around 100 years ago. At the end of the hike, you can have a snack and use the restroom. After that, we'll take the car to Los Gigantes, where we'll embark on a two-hour boat trip. We'll look for dolphins or whales; with luck, we might even spot a fin whale or a turtle… You never know what the Atlantic will bring that day. Enjoy breathtaking views of the cliffs while feeling the refreshing sea breeze. And of course, there's the chance for a swim, jumping into the water from the boat in the bay of Masca Gorge. Then it's back home, where we'll return exhausted but incredibly happy. An unforgettable day.
A 9-10 km hike lasting 3.5 hours. 300 m of elevation gain and loss. Moderate difficulty. A two-hour boat trip to see dolphins, possibly whales, turtles, manta rays, sharks… with luck. Swimming in the bay of the Masca ravine is possible from the boat if you wish.
Price €45. If you bring your car, add €20. Boat fare is an extra €20. Please contact us as soon as possible.
